The world is a crooked place.

The older I get, the less I understand… What do we get with age? wisdom? maybe with the ability to recognise that all is not as we expected or hoped. Or confusion as the big players in the world demonstrate their selfishness and stupidity? I’m learning from Tim Marshall’s book “Prisoners of geography”. I’m learning that countries and their leaders seek power, influence, land and riches of all types, often without caring who they’re taking from or who they’re hurting. There are many current examples. Obvious ones like Russia invading Ukraine, Israel invading Gaza. There’s also many we don’t hear much about. Civil wars and struggles in Africa and the middle east. Often other large powers seeking to exert their influence in places by giving arms or money, along with the intention of gaining something. It often ends in war.
